About

Hey there! I’m Charlotte and I live in the northern suburbs of Cape Town, you know, just north of where it’s cool.

Until recently I had a pretty good plan for the next 3 years or so. Move back to Cape Town, start a PhD, excel at my part-time job, fix-up my apartment, do some DIY, perfect a 100% rye bread, crochet some stuff, see my friends, drink some wine, you know…live my life. And then 2020 happened. I moved to Cape Town, postponed the PhD, lost the part-time job, only moved into my apartment six months after I arrived (!), obviously did not fix-up the apartment or DIY, didn’t bake rye bread, crocheted until I ran out of yarn, saw my friends over Zoom, did NOT drink the wine, you know…2020 life!

And now I’m here. Despite 2020 still being pretty dreadful, I have been doing crap. I personally think rather cool stuff. Or sorta cool stuff…or just north of cool…stuff. You get my drift. Anyway, here you will see my experiments with ink (yes, the stuff you write with), my battle for the perfect 100% rye bread, some DIY (because I can’t afford new stuff, and frankly don’t necessarily like new stuff), you will meet my plants and witness their struggles living with me… Oh! And I haven’t even mentioned that I am a geriatric equestrian! Seeing that pregnant women after the age of 35 are referred to as geriatric mothers, I may be a geriatric equestrian because I only started riding quite a bit after that. Does that make me a geriatric equestrian? Who knows??

Ok, cool. So if you want to read and see about the splendid, somewhat cool, sometimes disastrous activities that keep me (arguably) sane…erm…read on, I suppose.
